Founder Shadowing with Michael Witzke, founder of Blinkit
After shadowing Michael Witzke for one day, I was wondering, why I waited so long to do my fifth founder shadowing. So many new insights and learnings.
Michael is one of the founders of blink.it, a B2B SaaS E-Learning start-up with 19 employees.
Never have seen such an organized and structured company & founder before.
My key take-aways:
#1: Managing yourself and scaling your organization requires on-point structure and organization. Turn processes, thoughts, feelings and expectations into written documents.
#2: Have a well-structured recruiting process: working only with A-Players will ease-up your "founder's life" tremendously.
#3: Focus on core customer segments, give them an internal name and implement them into your culture.
#4: Customer Success can become very data-driven.
Additionally, even software start-ups use Google Sheets for KPI reporting. ;)
If Michael would start another SaaS start-up, it would be a product with less friction to onboard clients and which is integrated into a key-process of the customer's business.
Thanks for having me and all the best for the future!
